Loire Valley

Surrounded by more than a 1,001 chateaus, the majestical Loire Valley is the perfect place to experience the life of royalty.  Once home, or inspiration to many great French writers and poets such as Rabelais, Descartes and Balzac you are surrounded by enchanted woodlands, vineyards and magical gardens. 

Today, a large part of the Loire has been classified 'world heritage', and boasts numerous forests and parks that will now be nurtured for future generations.People come to the Loire to re-live the grandeur of ‘life at the chateau'; but there's lots more, if you're a cycling enthusiast, the terrain is perfect for cycling either along the mighty Loire river (see our map).  Go horseback around former prestigious hunting grounds of former kings or take a hot air balloon ride for a panoramic view.
